For Ella Joy

I could not continue blogging without mentioning someone who's life and death have had such an impact on us here in France. Ella Joy Kimmons is the beautiful gift of God to my friends Rob & Karen and for 7 months they enjoyed the blessing of her life in Karen's womb. For some reason unknown to all of us except the great and glorious God of the universe, He decided to take her Home before we had a chance to meet her. How hard it is to learn to say with Job, "the Lord gives, and the Lord takes away. Blessed be the Name of the Lord."

Ella Joy was born June 18, 2007. She weighed 2 lbs and was 13.5 inches long. She was beautiful, so obviously knit together perfectly by her Maker in the womb of her mother. And now, as then, she enjoys the presence of her Maker every moment of every day.

Ella's absence is acutely felt, most of all by Rob & Karen, and the days are not the same without her. Lord, help us to trust your goodness, and your perfect plan, and give us eyes to see your glory being revealed in the midst of deep sadness. May Karen and Rob continue to know Your shelter, the safety of Your shadow and Your refuge. Help us to say, blessed be Your Name.

Thanks for sharing with us, not only the joys and good times, but also the sorrowful times that show us how acutely we need our Abba.
And thank you, Dear Jesus for Ella Joy's life and for the comfort that we know you have for her grieving parents.
